Cerro Solo - 2121 mts
This product is designed for those who like to ascent a peak around Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre, in the Los Glaciares National Park. We offer a great possibility for a peak with easy access and intermediate technical difficulty. We have elected Cerro Solo for its aesthetic characteristics and location ? with spectacular views of Cerro Torre and Fitz Roy. This peak could be ascent in a very long day. However, based on our experience and the comments of our clients, we realized that the majority prefers to use two days instead of one. This reduces the physical effort implied in the approach, ascent to and descent from the summit. Moreover, the use of two days to attempt the climb means one night in a high base-camp, a unique mountaineering experience. See more?.

 Recommendations

Clothing and Gadgets
Comfortable shoes, remember that once you have got there, you must return! We advise you get dress as if you were an ?onion? in several layers that you can take off and put on to suit each moment. Take a nylon windproof jacket, waterproof too (you never know). If you are planning to go camping or on a long walk always take spare shoes, socks and clothes and choose synthetic clothes, because they are warmer and keep your body dry. Sun cream and sunglasses, and mosquito repellent (often a must) and flashlight with spare batteries just in case it gets dark and you cannot find your path back.

Food and drink
Water bottle (two liters), food for lunch and to spare, if you decide on a long walk. If you are going camping remember that it is not allowed to light a fire, take your own heater (you can rent one in town), biodegradable soap and plastic bags for rubbish.

Rubbish
Keeping the place clean depends on each and every one of us, so put every bit of rubbish in a plastic bag to take it back with you.

Weather
The weather is unforgiving: a sunny morning may be followed a cold and rainy afternoon, and a cold and ranny morning may be followed a sunny afternoon..

Get informed
Get informed about the area you are going to visit: water availability, steepness, duration of the walk, dusk time, etc?

Do not leave traces
Do not leave traces of your step in the National Park, do not dig unnecessary ditches for your tent, do not drop litter?the next visitors will appreciate it!

In the Northern Area
It is not allowed to light a fire in the Northern Area of the National Park!

Archeological Sites
The archeological sites, cave paintings, arrowheads and other objects are PROTECTED BY A NATIONAL LAW, but that has not proved to be enough, so remember their protection depends mostly on each and every one of us!

Fishing
Fishing is a sport, so ?play fair?, get your fishing license in the administration of the National Park and read the rules very carefully.
